This documentary created by WNIT-PBS follows the creation of the 100 Black Men of South Bend chapter and explores the mentoring process as well as meeting many of the members and the children they mentor.
Many of the children featured in the documentary are raised by single mothers, while drugs, gangs and other bad influences all vie for their attention. Mentors in the 100 Black Men of America program range from career professionals to successful businessmen and everyday citizens who have had great successes in their lives.
WNIT's cameras documented the mentoring process and the home lives of the mentors and mentees for the program. In addition, the children share their lives with their own recordings on mini DV cameras.
